What I wish was different
I wish that they had been more honest about the housing situation as well as there resources. housing was very different than explained when we were introduced to the program. In addition, we were told we would receive funding for supplies. We never did. A lot of the time we would have to spend our own money to get kids basics supplies like masks, pencils, and paper. We were also told it was a math and reading based camp. We never once did anything with math. As for reading, we would read one books to the kids a day and I would hand make spelling books to incorporate more learning into the child’s summer. I was then questioned about why I only made the books for my class and not the whole (which contained 3 classes for 13-18 children!)
