Private Markets Accounting and Finance Intern

June - August 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

KKR is a really great private equity company, one of the best in the business. Working there gave me the opportunity to learn a lot more about the industry, especially through our weekly seminars that gave interns the chance to learn about all the aspects of KKR's business.

What I wish was different

I wish I was more willing to ask other team's for work to give me a wider exposure to what everyone in the office does. All the work I completed was specifically for my team, and I wish that whenever finished my work I asked other interns if they needed help with their work or went to another manager for work to put myself out there and show I was willing to take on a challenge.

Advice

I would suggest someone to make the most out your opportunity at KKR. There are so many highly intelligent people working there that it is a great chance to network and learn how they got to where they are today. The private equity industry is also really fascinating to learn about because it involves investing in a business and turning it around into a profitable investment.
