Internal Audit Intern

May - August 2018 • Mason, OH

What I liked

There is a lot of freedom given to us throughout the summer. There is no Internal Audit Manager who sits at Kings Island so you’re going out and meeting with different departments. We were given all our assignments at the beginning of summer and it was left up to us on how to attack it and plan it out.

What I wish was different

The biggest thing that I would change is being more persistent in setting up meetings with different department heads. Some answer slower than others and really figuring out how to go about getting in contact with and meeting with each one was the one thing that I may have waited a little too long to figure out.

Advice

Make sure you stay focused and make a plan for the summer. There are tests done both operationally in the park and then others on the behind the scenes items. It is easy to lose focus due to the fact you are working at an amusement park. Make a plan on what you need to do for each week and you should have no problems getting your work done.

Aquatics Supervisor

May 2015 - July 2018 • Mason, OH

What I liked

Since I was a supervisor I was able to help incoming workers learn and get used to to job. It was very nice to welcome them and make them feel at home while on the clock.

What I wish was different

I wish that I worked there more hours a week. Due do my other summer job I wasn't able to fully devote my time to a single group and I regret that.

Advice

If there's one thing that you should do when you get to work it is work hard and focus. I can't tell you how far those simple things got me.
