Kids Sports News Network (KSNN)

Production Intern

August - September 2021 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

The posting SOUNDED good, but in reality they're a very small business with very little to teach you compared to what we learn at Chapman.

What I wish was different

Please DO NOT WORK HERE. The management are incredibly unprofessional. When asking for advice/help on tasked assignments, they repeatedly told me to "use Google or Youtube" to figure it out and that by merely asking it was showing a lack of initiative. I proceeded to learn as much as I could through those cites, only to be publicly berated infront of my team for not showing "due diligence" and "failing" at the assignment I was given no support or guidance on. They also task you with assignments with no warning (there is no schedule or set hours), and expect the assignment to be completed immediately (within 24 hours of the first email being sent about it).

Advice

I saw their response to the other intern with a negative review, belittling their experience as I'm sure they will also do to me. It is unpaid and the demands of time and work are incredible. They let Micah (head of Marketing) manage all interns and treat them how she deems fit (incredibly unprofessionally and rudely. Please for your own sanity don't wok here. I wish I could block a company on Handshake.
