I liked that it was remote and flexible with my schedule. I also loved the culture workshops and flexibility to bring new ideas to the table.
What I wish was different
I wish we would have been able to solve the funding issue sooner. I also wish there were more clear directions on expectations, parameters, needs, resources, etc...
Advice
Go into this internship knowing that it is not as organized as you may hope or expect. There are a lot of loose ends, issues with clarity and communication, and it is often difficult to accomplish what you want to accomplish.

What I liked
The country of Peru is absolutely beautiful and there is so much history wherever you go. Ancient Incan ruins are around every corner and the locals are very eager to show you them. The special education school I worked at had a great environment and I learned so much.
What I wish was different
I wish they had told me more about the internship because it was more of a special education internship than a speech therapy internship.
Advice
Travel abroad! You will learn so much about yourself and what you are really capable of.
