Katerra

Assistant Project Accountant

June - August 2019 • Weehawken, NJ

What I liked

The people were great. They took a lot of time to train me and make me part of a team. The work environment was good and I feel I learned a lot.

What I wish was different

Truthfully I wished I could have been there longer than I was. I started in June but wish I could have started as soon as the Spring semester ended. I know I gained a lot of knowledge about procurement and budgeting.

Advice

When you are in the workforce you need to be consistent, timely, and put in all your efforts to learn. Always, try to observe and learn everything you can from the people that are in the field. Never have a closed mind. There is always another way to accomplish a particular task and never think your way is the only solution. It was a great experience for me.

ArchViz intern

June - September 2018 • Seattle, WA

What I liked

I really enjoyed applying my computer science knowledge in a more architecture-oriented environment. My experience working with the other architects to make something for them to use is unforgettable to me.

What I wish was different

Perhaps it would have been better to work with a larger software team on the project.

Advice

I’d advise future interns to be really independent at this company. It takes a lot of motivation to be part of a startup working for a specific purpose.
