What I liked

The atmosphere of the company is awesome! Everyone is so welcoming and helpful when needed. I really feel like I am a part of the KIG family! I also am so thankful that KIG continued their internship program through the COVID-19 pandemic; it was so nice to still have an internship after the selection and interview process. Most activities and meetings were held virtually, so it was nice to still be able to participate even during the pandemic.

What I wish was different

My internship during the pandemic has been very different than what I expected. I was allowed to work from home for the entirety except some mandatory in-office days, so it was a little hard to stay connected with everyone. I can’t really complain about this because it was out of KIG’s hands, but I wish I could have gotten the full internship experience. Overall, I think KIG did the best they could and I did have a great experience.

Advice

Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you need help. You might think you are being a pain, but everyone was once in this position so they are happy to help. Also, try to connect with other employees. Build up your social network because networking can help you get a full-time job after graduation.
