I loved the experience of interacting with the St. Louis community. I was able to learn about the particular needs of students within St. Louis City.
What I wish was different
With changing protocols as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic, my position had a heavy focus upon aiding with making adjustments for the school. This entailed physically furniture and restructuring the layout of the building. Additionally time that I could have spent recruiting in-person or working with students was shifted as I spent more time making phone calls or answering emails.
Advice
This was an interesting learning experience, working with the founders of the school. This role was a great experience seeing the inner- workings of the school. Unfortunately this position did not have interactions with current students as it was centered around recruitment and administrative tasks within the school.
