I loved the independence I was given in the lab, the fast pace, and having more timeline-driven objectives in a start-up environment.
What I wish was different
I wish I had networked a bit more beyond the company, and established better notetaking practices when I first started.

R&D Intern
May - August 2018 • Palo Alto, CA
What I liked
The work offered me a great deal of control over experimental design, introduced me to fields of biology that I had wanted to learn about, and challenged me to improve as a scientist and a student.
What I wish was different
I would have liked to have been more mentally prepared for the rapid pace of the internship.
Advice
My job required greater tempo and adaptation than I was personally accustomed to. It helped a lot to have the momentum from working right after I finished school.
