Playing with kids, being a leader/guide, problem solving, conflict resolution, and being appreciated by both campers and staff for the hard work

Advice
When kids misbehave, don't take it personally. They don't act out to make our life difficult, they have their own reasons. Try to understand those reasons, address them, and find compromises if possible. But when we, as counselors, take their actions personally, that's when we get angry and upset with campers, because we've involved our own feelings into the situation. Separating our feelings from their actions allows us to be more patient and understanding--key components to making it through the day.
