There was a lot of flexibility in the timing and work hours of this position. This was great because I was still able to work a weekly job that paid hourly and do my internship work mostly remotely. The experience in a start-up was also valuable because I got to witness how important every aspect of the company is.
What I wish was different
I do wish there had been some more structure surrounding my responsibilities and learning. This, in part, could have been facilitated by setting my own expectations ahead of time.
Advice
I suggest setting very clear goals for what you want to learn / get out of the experience and then relaying them to your supervisor. I feel like this would have been helpful in giving me a more tailored to what I'm studying experience.
