What I liked

I worked with a team that supports IT operations at the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, so I had the chance to learn about everything from storage to networking to policy and compliance and beyond. It really helped me see which field was the most interesting to me, as well as gave me practical experience in a lot of areas.

What I wish was different

There is all kinds of fascinating research being done at the Center. I wish I had had more time this summer to learn about the different projects being worked on in the labs. But maybe next summer!

Advice

I'm an introvert and it's hard for me to get out and talk to people. But definitely do your best to make connections and network with people in your field. It's a great way to learn and possibly land a job.
