Our work directly supports children, families, seniors, and veterans who turn to us in times of crisis and when needed and supports a network of 300 community-based nonprofit organizations. Island Harvest Food Bank is a member of Feeding America®, a nationwide network of food banks leading the effort to solve hunger in the U.S. To learn more, visit

Summer Food Service Program Monitor

June 2017 - August 2017 Hauppauge, NY
“As a SFSP Monitor, you learn how to simultaneously manage multiple food service sites and their corresponding federal paperwork. Since you work a little more independently than as a team, this job allows you to really learn how to be organized and responsible, which are vital skills that will help you grow as a professional. Furthermore, you help feed low-income children on Long Island; if that won't bring you joy, then I'm not sure what will.”
