What I liked

The company culture is incredible and full of past-paced, innovative thinkers who are all such go-getters. It was really motivating to work with them on a daily basis and be given so much responsibility as an intern—there was something to do every minute and you gain exposure to working onsite at the events themselves, learning and hearing from a range of clients, and learning the ins and outs of event production. The ability to travel and work alongside others in the company based in different locations was also a major highlight that really made the work enjoyable.

What I wish was different

I could not have asked for a better experience and struggle to find an area of weakness. Everyone from HR to senior producers to the person you directly report to each go oht of their way to invest their time in you as you help them on so many projects. If anything, I wish training for out-of-headquarters and in-headquarters interns was not conducted over the phone as there were some disconnects and difficulties in getting the most out of discussions. Perhaps an all-intern training at the same location, although more demanding to coordinate, would be a worthy investment of time and resources.

Advice

Have no expectations! You could be asked to do anything at any time and you’ll need to stay on your feet and pay attention to details. Be proactive and prevent problems before they have a chance to come up, and be sure to come with a positive attitude and willingness to have fun because the people who work at INVNT are an absolutely amazing and high-powered team.
