Investors Bank

Loan Servicing Intern

June - August 2019 • Iselin, NJ

What I liked

People, culture, intern activities, community service opportunites

What I wish was different

I wish I worked in a department more related to the field I want to go in. Wish I hung out with other interns after work.

Advice

Whenever someone asks if you are available or interested in working on something, say yes. I worked in a large department where I reported to 6 different managers and supervisors. I was enthusiastic and interested in working on any task or project presented to me.

Customer Service Associate

May 2019 • Trenton, NJ

What I liked

I like working with customers and attempting to help them with their financial needs. Additionally, I love the culture of Investors Bank - it is very friendly and team-oriented. All of the employees are very supportive of one another.

What I wish was different

I would have liked training to be in a location much closer to me. I had to travel approximately an hour each way every day for 3 weeks for training.

Advice

Be ready to work with all types of customers. Some will be very friendly and patient, some will not be. Sometimes you will need to take extra time to explain policies and procedures to customers. Also, mistakes happen - it's okay. Overall, you should be willing to adopt an outgoing and friendly personality, but also be able to stand your ground when necessary.
