I worked as a summer intern at the museum. I had two tasks. The first was to annotate auto-biographies that the Intrepid had gathered from war veterans who served on the USS Intrepid. My annotations would then be used by museum curators in the future. Then, my co-workers and I wrote a 10-minute long play inspired by the stories we read. My other task was to perform a 15-minute long interactive science demonstration to museum guests at the Intrepid's space shuttle exhibit. My time at the Intrepid taught me the creative process of writing and acting. I also learned how to sort and sift through lots of information and distill the salient points into an organized structure. Lastly, I learned how to use my academic knowledge in a presentational format, understanding how to engage an audience and still convey important points in an articulate yet concise manner.
