What I liked
The office was very friendly, and they gave you benefits as an intern that most companies don't give you such as free Interstates apparel, and paid holidays. There is also free food once every two weeks.

I wish there was more collaborating with the team.

The work was rewarding as it played to my strengths in organizing and designing plus the hours we're flexible when they needed to be
What I wish was different
Had thought about what I wanted to come out of the internship more. I was in charge what I was working on so I could have gotten more exposure to the different aspects of Interstates if I tried to.
Advice
What you do with an internship is up to you. You can either be there to say you have experience in your resume or you can show up willing to knock it out of the park on anything you're working on.

Interstates is a specialty subcontractor, don’t be afraid to work for a company that isn’t a general contractor

Don't be afraid to ask if you don't know something. They don't expect you to know everything and actually encourages questions.
