I enjoyed being an in-person intern at the global headquarters, being apart of the spiritual rhythms, as well as the diverse range of opportunities to try different tasks within my team.

What I liked
I enjoyed working with the other interns, learning more about the organization's mission, having lunch with countless senior leaders, managing a project for all of the other interns, completing a few research projects, and contributing to my team's work. I really liked the leadership and the Christian conviction of the organization. I really respected IJM's excellent operations and stewardship afterward.

What I liked
I liked that I got to do very tangible work. I wrote reports and speeches, conducted research. I loved the office environment. The team was amazing and so encouraging.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had gotten to spend more time there, and that I had even more opportunities to work on policy projects.
Advice
I would say, have coffee or get time with anyone and everyone you can. Leave the space with relationships that you will carry beyond your time there.

What I liked
I loved the mission of the organization, learning professional skills, and discerning more clearly what I would want to do in the future as a career. IJM is an incredible organization that cares for and prioritizes it's interns. Interning for IJM is an amazing experience.

Having the internship be paid or compensated in some way would have been wonderful.

Meet as many people as you can, people at IJM are generous in giving their time to connect and meet you!

All of the full-time staff was very welcoming, lots of mentoring opportunities and chances to learn about the different roles and projects within the organization.
