This experience offered real, hand-on work, and I was able to interact with my superiors and other departments without feeling I was "just an intern"; I was apart of the team.

Well establish engineering training program. The company is amazing at treating their employees (including interns).

I had more of a say so in my role at the company.

Be bold. Question when you do not understand something, and contest when you think something is wrong.
