Summer Ministry Team Leader
June 2019 • Marion, IN
What I liked
I absolutely loved working with Summer Ministry Teams. It was such a pleasure for me to not only get to be poured into by my team members but to be poured into by the students that we went and were camp counselors for. I loved every minute of it for both summers. It is such a faith building experience to be able to go experience camp life for the summer and was well worth every late night talking to the kids after that day of camp.
What I wish was different
I wish that I would have taken more opportunities to connect with the kids and not let the tiredness of camp play in my want to be able to do different activities with the kids. I would have allowed myself more time to talk and connect with the kids during the night rather than just go to bed.
Advice
I would say take every single opportunity you hav to connect with others and give what you have even before you start. Put your time in with the Lord and prepare well because once your in the position and out traveling its time to get work done for the kingdom.

It has given me the opportunity to work a job at my university and get valuable experience working in an office setting. I have appreciated how easy it has been to transition my role into the school year and get hours that work for me.
What I wish was different
Honestly, it has been a pretty great experience. Nothing that I would change about it.
Advice
It is a good work environment with great coworkers and offers a wonderful opportunity to learn what it is like to work in an office, along with teaching important communication skills.

Procurement Assistant
March 2018 • Marion, IN
What I liked
I learned many applicable skills in the workplace and got to work with a very compassionate, supportive, and Christ-like team.
What I wish was different
My only issue was with the training process. It was mainly led by student employees, so there were certain protocols I had to unlearn due to it being learned wrong by the previous individual.
Advice
Go for internship and work experiences you wouldn't typically picture yourself in. It's a great growing experience and will provide you with skills to help you stand out in your actual field.

Conference Services Crew Leader and Spiritual Formation Leader
October 2016 • Marion, IN
What I liked
Serving in a Christian context and having coworkers who are also my classmates during the semester.
What I wish was different
The Spiritual Formation Leader is a job that I created within the company. Since it was a "trial-run" there were things that worked and things that did not work so I plan to develop the role and programs that are planned to better support and help the workers and guests on our campus.
Advice
This is a job that requires patience and handwork, if you focus on the good you are doing and fight negativity, then it is a very fulfilling job.
