I learned a lot about what transportation engineering is, saw actual construction methods, and learned about pay estimates and quality control.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been a bit of design at some point, to see the preconstruction planning phase a little better.
Advice
Having field experience is extremely beneficial in learning design , and teaches an engineer to think in realistic steps. I would definitely suggest an internship that has a field focus to allow for this growth.
