Hands on experience such as operating milling machines, lathes, water jet, and other machining tools. Learning a new CAD software that is not offered at USC (solidworks).
What I wish was different
That the engineering department was more approachable. Many were not helpful in answering questions or helping solve problems. The few engineers that were helpful did make the experience worth while.
Advice
Be prepared to fail. You will fail many times before you succeed. It's part of the learning process.
