What I liked

I liked everything about this internship! I was learning something new every day and my mentors were the most incredible people. I also had a really tight-knit cohort, both in person and virtual, that made this experience incredibly successful.

What I wish was different

I wish I was paid a little more because I knew of other positions in the field that had more competitive salaries, and I also had to travel a bit for the job, so that was a bit underwhelming.

Advice

Definitely go into this experience open-minded! I didn’t know what to expect and that was the best way to approach it because the insurance industry is really foreign to young adults and it’s best if you let your mentors guide you.

Insurance Brokerage Intern

What I liked

I found out how underrated of a career path insurance is. There is real money being made in insurance brokerage. There is a great work-life balance, exceptional benefits, and an aging population that makes lots of room for younger people to move up.

What I wish was different

I wish I had known a little bit more about insurance.

Advice

Be extremely open minded. Insurance is not flashy career choice, but there is a multitude of career path options within insurance that allow for your individual optimized career path
