Honda

Customer Accounts

May - August 2019 • Elgin, IL

What I liked

I got to work with people I already knew, which made it fun to go into work. They held many competitions amongst the employees for rewards which kept me motivated to perform my best.

What I wish was different

My hours were not the same everyday, and I would’ve liked them to be.

Advice

It is not an easy job. Many came and left within a week. You had to talk on the phone with a lot of angry people, so you have to be able handle people yelling at you.

Engine Line Engineering Co-op

January - July 2019 • Anna, OH

What I liked

I like all the resources the company had to offer. There were suppliers located all over the plant and a large machine shop department that often made the parts I requested.

What I wish was different

I wish things were a little more laid back. Sometimes the seriousness of the company ruined my motivation to complete projects.

Advice

Honda takes their company very seriously. So if you're very passionate about cars and trucks, go for it, if not, you may want to check something else out.

What I liked

Fun, open workplace. Lots of opportunities to learn

What I wish was different

More opportunities to learn about the industry in general would have been nice

Advice

Go in willing to learn and make your own work because, at times, there won't be much work given to you. But that doesn't necessarily mean there isn't anything for you to do.

What I liked

The work I did was like a real employee. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I felt like a part of the team. Also enjoyed wearing uniforms

What I wish was different

I wish I had more experience going in because it would’ve been easier to learn and I wish there wasn’t so much down time

Advice

I didn’t realize tax was different than the regular accounting team so I would make sure you know what you’re looking for before applying. My experience was great though and I learned things about tax I never knew before
