What I liked

I made a lot of money in a short time and the people I work in. This job as allowed me to expand my work experience and add to my resume. At Hertz it opened the door for me to the insurance industry where I think I would like my career path to head

What I wish was different

The work I do at Hertz, particularly cleaning the cars . We are required to dress business like and go outside in all weather (even snow) to clean cars. I ruin my clothes all the time. Hertz is very male dominated, it suck because their is not a mix in specifically gender.

Advice

Hertz is a company with high turnover and the processes/operation at the company is chaotic. Everything is always changing and you have to learn quickly. The days are long with ten hours shift M-F and Saturday work too. I wish I had more time off or some flex time. The people I work with are nice, but be prepared to work with mostly men. It is a job that I do not see myself staying long. The money and discounts is good, if you're a college student or recently graduated.

What I liked

The support I got from my supervisors and coworkers was outstanding, no matter what questions or problems I had. The focus of their support was almost entirely on me learning what I needed to become a stronger and more capable employee, which I appreciated.

What I wish was different

There were a lot of things happening that I didn't fully feel prepared for at first, such as the certification process and dealing with busy hours. Having a better idea early on of what exactly was expected of me would have been helpful.

Advice

Always ask questions, early and often! I was successful because I felt comfortable asking for help when I didn't know what to do, even when the questions I asked seemed minor.

What I liked

I was offered a promotion to a manager about three different times because of my ability.

What I wish was different

If I could have stayed, I would have gotten a promotion and had made salary raised from $14 an hour to $16 dollars an hour with access to a larger amount of privileges.
