What I liked
Everyone who works at Henrico County across all departments are extremely friendly and helpful.
What I wish was different
My supervisor is amazing, but there wasn't much room to connect my job duties to my foreign affairs major and sometimes I ran out of things to do.
Advice
Make sure you talk to as many people as possible!

What I liked
I loved working outside and getting to teach kids about nature. I also loved the activities we did during the summer, such as canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, fishing, and hiking.
What I wish was different
I am not super into sports, so I do wish it had been less sport-oriented.
Advice
Be ready to spend all day outside even when it’s hot! If you love nature, this is a great job.

I did not enjoy the data entry/paperwork but I know that it majority of the job.

Pay attention to dates. Realize that you have to be strong while talking to clients

What I liked
I liked having the privacy of working from my own office. I was able to concentrate on my tasks without any distractions.
What I wish was different
I wish that the work hours could have been less demanding. I was also taking a class and studying for my first actuary exam. I found it hard to find a healthy balance between work, school, and social life.
Advice
I would advise everyone to take every day a moment at a time. Planning ahead is for the wise and to practice self-care as you won't be able to excel in anything if you are not up for trying due to pure exhaustion.
