About Help Network of Northeast Ohio

Help Network of Northeast Ohio (formerly known as Help Hotline Crisis Center, Inc.) is a non-profit, private corporation serving Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana Counties, with after-hours contracts providing services to Ashtabula and Lake Counties. The agency was incorporated in May 1971 as a drug information line for Mahoning County. The agency has 5 physical locations, three in Mahoning and two in Columbiana. Our Mission Statement is “Improving lives by providing immediate comprehensive services to support and connect people with community resources”.

In the past 51 years, the agency has grown from 6 hours a day hotline operated by volunteers, to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and employs 57 full and part time staff. It is best known for its’ Suicide/Crisis Hotline and #211 Information and Referral services that answers over 10,000 calls per month. The agency is also a provider for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Also, the agency provides face to face services to over 800 people a year through its 15 other programs. These programs are specific to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, developmental disabilities, mental health, or substance use issues, or just situational issues. These programs include Representative Payeeship, Guardianship, Homeless Outreach, Dispute Resolution Services, Family Success Network, and Peer Resource and Recovery Centers just to name a few.
