Hello Neighbor works to improve the lives of recently resettled refugee and immigrant families. Founded in 2017, we have grown to support new neighbors from 26 countries of origin and we work with over 700 individuals per year. Our work starts on day 1, when our newest neighbors arrive at the airport.
While Hello Neighbor is engaged in an array of programming, here's a high-level overview of that work:
Resettlement: Assisting refugees and Special Immigrant Visa holders from day 1 with housing, employment, educational support, medical navigation and more.
Study Buddy: Offer virtual 1-1 tutoring to first generation students in the US education system.
Health and Stabilization: Social supports, case management, and medical case management for new neighbors
Smart Start: Provide culturally competent and personalized support for expectant refugee and immigrant mothers and their babies.
Mentorship: Match recently resettled refugee and immigrant families with local mentors.
Volunteer Opportunities: We have a large array of volunteer engagement opportunities for individuals, families, companies and more from one-time to ongoing and recurring.
