I liked how friendly everyone was at Maple Park and Kirkland, Illinois. There are some really good staff there.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have done this internship without the corporate side of things. They try their best to give it that small business feel but it was just hard to hide at times.
Advice
Just do the best you can. If you are working at the Kirkland/Maple Park, IL locations you will love the calm and friendly atmosphere they provide there.

Agricultural Sales Intern
May - August 2019 • Shelbyville, IN
What I liked
Through this experience, I learned more about agronomy and sales than I imagine I ever could learn in a classroom setting. The team gave me hands-on experience that was so fun, it didn't even feel like work. I loved having two pieces of training because it made me feel all the more prepared, which is something that is unique from other ag sales internships. We had a leadership/sales training at the company headquarters in Memphis during February and we had an agronomy training in Des Moines in May. I also liked going out of state for a new experience and because of the independence I gained from it.
What I wish was different
My only complaint was that the year of 2019 was so unique that I didn't learn as much about the usual circumstances.
Advice
Get out of your comfort zone and be confident you doing so. Don't be afraid of something you aren't familiar with–it will only create more opportunity to learn and grow.

What I wish was different
I wish the pay would have been better but I can’t complain for a summer job.
Advice
I would say others should try it, it’s a good experience and you learn a lot. You also get to work with a good group of people.
