I got a hands-on experience in disease research which confirmed my current path of studies. I was able to live abroad while also learning new skills in my career field!
What I wish was different
Although this was an amazing experience, it was hard to make the decision to go because I rely on my own financial income and had to go the summer unpaid. This has put me at a disadvantage for the school year as I have to work an extra job, but the skills learned and experience were priceless.
