Advice
Volunteer beforehand and plan on volunteering for a while afterwards. Because of the nature of the work, they would prefer to have a year commitment from a volunteer. Obviously, your volunteer time per week will be less than the hours you put in per week as an intern. I volunteered before and am still volunteering now (Dec. 2017).
