I was able to work one on one with patients and build very unique relationships with each of them. I loved that I was very involved in the everyday life of a physical therapist by helping them exercise and give treatment to the patients. The environment that this outpatient facility creates with its patients is so special that it is bitter sweet for the patients when it comes time to leave.
What I wish was different
I wish that I was able to come in on Fridays, however since I have class I can't. Many patients come in 2 to 3 times a week and I do miss seeing them at the end of the week.
Advice
One piece of advice that I would share about this experience is to be your true genuine self when meeting new patients. When they see that you are positive and excited to see them, the more they will want to come back and get better. This allows the us as staff to connect more with the patients and give them the best experience possible.
