Investment Banking Summer Analyst

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

Guggenheim did a great job investing time into its interns. We had a lot of corporate bonding events so we could network within the company. I also found the company had a great culture that really emphasized its people. Additionally, the program is generalist so I enjoyed the ability to work with different groups from Retail to Industrials to TMT. Overall, I left the summer feeling like I had learned a lot and am excited to go back!

Investment Banking Analyst Intern

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I enjoyed getting real-world experience in the investment banking industry. I have wanted to pursue a career in investment banking for a few years now, so now that I finally was able to gain that experience I am excited for my future progressions within the industry. Guggenheim was an awesome place to work and really cared about their interns and employees, trying to give everyone the best experience possible.

What I wish was different

I don't wish anything went differently. It was much more than I could have asked for. I was able to work on multiple deals to gain the exposure I was looking for and got along with my team well.

Advice

My advice would be to go into your internship with an open mind, ready to absorb as much as you can. As an intern, you aren't expected to know everything. That is the point of interning, to learn as much as possible within a short timeframe. Be ready to accept you won't know things, but be open to learning how to.

What I liked

I loved getting to go into work everyday and learn so many new things that I did not even know existed before.

What I wish was different

I wish the program had been a little bit more structured and I knew what I was going to have to do before each week started.

Advice

I would say just go in with an open mind and try to absorb as much information as you can and make connections with the people around you
