Retail, stock associate

September 2019 • San Marcos, TX

What I liked

What I like about working as a retail associate at Guess is the people I work with and the customers. Working in this kind of environment gets me out of my comfort zone and allows me to interact with different kinds of people and different culture backgrounds. Also the great discounts are a plus to further my knowledge about fashion and switching up my outfits.

What I wish was different

Advice

the opportunity of being apart of a retail business is a good customer service experience. So knowing that, you want to go in with a positive energy, one that will get you recognized and create doors of opportunity and great deals for yourself. You meet and work with amazing people that want to see you succeed.

Visual Merchandiser Intern

June - August 2019 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

I loved the environment I worked in, as well as the responsibility I had.

What I wish was different

I don’t wish anything to have been different.

Advice

I would share that to go into an internship ready to learn as much as you can. Try to absorb everything around you because the point of an internship is to learn both good and bad.

Retail Salesperson

February - September 2019 • New Orleans, LA

What I liked

I liked the community there. The pay was nice and the work wasn’t too hard.

What I wish was different

I wish that there was free parking around the Canal Mall for staff. I would have to either pay to park when I came to work or have someone drop me off.

Advice

I would say that if you plan on working at any store in the Riverwalk mall to get a reliable person to bring you and pick you up from work because the parking rates are expensive.

Visual Merchandiser Intern

June - August 2018 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

I loved the entire internship program! It was organized and very informative. We, as interns, had sessions with professionals in almost every area - buying, processing and allocating, finance, accounting, graphic design, e-commerce... the list continues. For my specific internship, it was extremely hands-on and the work that I completed was used for the stores as guides. Also, living in LA was a great perk!

What I wish was different

Advice

Take the risk! Put yourself out there and take an internship that is out of your comfort zone. It will really help you grow as an individual, as well as professionally.
