Guadalupe Centers shifted its educational focus in the late 1980s to address high dropout rates among Latino students, founding Alta Vista (now Guadalupe Centers High School) as a dropout prevention program. Expanding with a Middle School in 2010 and Elementary School in 2012, GCCS reached Pre-K to 12th grade by 2017-2018, growing from 15 students in a church basement to over 1,600 students.
