I liked that everybody in the department had really great interactions. I have not had a bad experience yet. I am also grateful for their supportive and understanding attitudes. When last minute emergencies come up and I need to call off work, people are always happy to step in. It really is an amazing work environment.

I like working with a lot of the different departments and creating personal relationships with guests and coworkers from all over the world.

I wish that communication had been a little bit better within the company.

What I liked
Working with other baristas and serving customers. Also, the diversity of people that come through my Starbucks is cool to see, since it’s located in the Radisson in downtown Kalamazoo.
What I wish was different
I would have preferred an internship with lab work or medical experience, but constant public exposure and interaction with people from all over the country and world is just as valuable.
Advice
GHG is a very good company to work for. If you land a job with GHG, you’ll have countless networking opportunities. Companies like Zoetis and Stryker often hold meetings at the Radisson, so you get to meet plenty of individuals that are available to give advice!
