GreatAmerica offered an awesome experience for me, welcoming me with open arms from day one. They invested in me and offered many opportunities for me to learn more about GreatAmerica as well as the industry as a whole. I was treated as one of them and was trusted to work on meaningful projects throughout the summer. This gave me an opportunity to apply and build on my class knowledge.
What I wish was different
Honestly I wish I had more time and the internship didn't end so fast. I had a lot of meaningful stuff to work on but not a lot of time so I wasn't able to get to everything that I wanted to.
Advice
Take advantage of the time you have there. It goes by very fast and you only have a limited amount of time. Try to absorb as much information and meet as many people as you can. You are not expected to know everything so ask questions and be curious.

What I liked
The people were phenomenal and I learned so much. I was kept busy but not overwhelmed, and I was able to work on projects that felt important and helped me grow.
What I wish was different
I did this internship from home (typically GreatAmerica has their interns in the office), and I think being in the office would have been an awesome experience.
Advice
Come in eager to learn and be yourself in the interview process.

What I liked
This internship allowed me to work with professionals on real projects within the company. I worked alongside top-level management and was provided agency in the work I was interested in completing. After this summer, I had a clearer idea of the ways I can use my degree.

Advice
Go in to this ready to learn! If you approach this role with an open mind, the possibilities are endless. This company is filled with the kindest, most encouraging and knowledgeable people. If you are willing to learn, they will help you succeed!
