Sales Intern

June 2020 • South Jordan, UT

What I liked

A lot of interaction with other interns and people who were previously interns and stayed on after. It’s really an environment that helps you grow and develop motivation to better yourself and others.

What I wish was different

This was only because of the Corona virus, but I wish we were able to travel to the areas that we sold to. It would have been an even better experience to be able to go meet the companies and leaders that we talked to over the phone and through emails to understand how those meetings were held and what is important to know as you visit other companies and develop these relationships.

Advice

Do your thing. If you find something that works keep running with it until it doesn’t work or you find something else that works better. This isn’t implying that you can’t try new things, but you do need to stick to your plan and put in the work before you can decide if it’s a good strategy. Do it, then ask questions and learn from it. Not the other way.

Foreign Exchange Analyst

May - August 2019 • South Jordan, UT

What I liked

I loved the fun work environment they create on the job. I was able to learn so much more about the foreign exchange market than I would have ever in a college course.

Advice

Work hard and it will pay off. They like to keep on interns as part-time employees if you're good and if you want to continue, so set yourself up for an offer.

Software Developer Intern

May - August 2019 • South Jordan, UT

What I liked

It is accurately rated as one of the best companies to work for in Utah. The office environment was casual and my team offered regular encouragement, but gave me plenty of distance to figure out solutions on my own so I could grow. I also learned some highly relevant technologies, such as Azure functions.

What I wish was different

A cubicle might have been comforting. It was often too chatty in that open office.

Advice

Ask questions! Even when you are no longer an intern, you do not know everything.
