I interned at Gold Leaf from January-May 2018 and then had the opportunity to be hired on full-time during the summer and into the first few months of this current school year. I was grateful that they gave me the opportunity to learn so much during my time there! Being able to transition from intern to employee showed me that they valued my skills and knowledge. They were also very flexible with my schedule and involved me in a lot of the treatment processes so I could learn about the different techniques used in physical therapy today.
What I wish was different
I wish that I hadn't been so busy this semester, so that I could have kept working there! But school comes first... Other than that I don't have any complaints. I really enjoyed my time at Gold Leaf.
Advice
The fact that this internship turned into a valuable job experience can show that being open minded and engaged in your work (whether you are paid or unpaid) is a great skill that many employers value. So don't be afraid to be bold and involved initially, because it will pay off!
