-I enjoyed freedom and creativity I was allowed to carry out event planning projects with–internship included a lot of event planning, data entry, newsletter writing, etc.
What I wish was different
-I wish there was more orientation and training prior to beginning the internship. I felt I was thrown into a lot of situations last-minute and without much context.
Advice
-If you are interested in working in the non-profit sector, Girls Inc is a prominent and recognized organization in the Denver metro area. If you are interested in working there, simply apply first as a volunteer (link on their website) and explain your interest in internship! Be sure to detail what specific you'd like to do so that they can cater to your interests and goals of the internship.
