I enjoyed the responsibilities I was given and the trust that my supervisors had for me. They truly believed that I would do a great job and were always grateful for anything I helped them with (and they always showed it!). Working with the girls at the summer camps, having the responsibility to post and take pictures for social media, and creating newsletters were my favorite parts of the job.
What I wish was different
If anything, I wish I had the chance to spend more time working with the girls, interacting with them, and getting to know them. However, the short time spent over the summer was not quite enough time for that.
Advice
One piece of advice would be to have experience working with children and to be able to pick up computer skills and database skills quickly. Having experience with excel was very helpful for me because I often helped make spreadsheets and entered new donor data into their database. Also, experience with social media was super helpful too!
