I was given the chance to create physical material like press releases to put in my portfolio. I was also able to be in charge of a few events by myself while my supervisor was out of town.
What I wish was different
In the beginning, before my supervisor had full faith in my abilities I was doing a lot of clerk type work, emailing, answering phones, mailing packages. But I think that’s a part of every program, you have to start small.
Advice
Don’t give up or quit if it isn’t your dream job, the experience is worth the struggle you go through initially. Everyone starts at the bottom.
