The best part of my internship was that it was policy and economic development work, that was directly based in the community. The work that I was completing had direct implications in the community I was working with which made the experience all the more enriching. The program was through Brown, called Brown in Tulsa, and that part made it easier in facilitating solidifying an internship location.
What I wish was different
I wish transportation throughout the city of Tulsa was more convenient. Thinking about transportation was more consuming than expected.
Advice
Some of the best experiences occur in the least expected places, so be open to exploring new opportunities.
