The people are friendly and great to work with. They will load you up with hours if you ask for them.
What I wish was different
I loved the position, but I don't know that I would recommend anything different. Set your expectations for mining and you will be pleasantly surprised. They are in the middle of a corporate restructure so many positions are being culled and absorbed.
Advice
Keep your head on your shoulders and stay resilient.

Asphalt Lab Technician
May - September 2019 • Draper, UT
What I liked
I loved getting to work in a construction type environment while not being outdoors for long amounts of time doing rigorous labor. The majority of our time is spent indoors doing tests inside the lab, but you do get to go outside and see the mine and worksite pretty often. I loved the mix of exposure, and it gave me a good idea of what a career in a lot of different positions at Geneva would be like, rather than a job where you have a limited view of what other people do on a daily basis.
What I wish was different
Not really anything, I got a solid all-around exposure to the work environment and learned a lot about the aggregate and road building industry!
Advice
Definitely a solid start for anyone looking to get into the construction management side of things.

HR Intern
April - August 2018 • Orem, UT
What I liked
I loved diving right in to recruiting! My supervisor showed a lot of trust in me and let me do a lot of important work, even conducting the entire recruiting and interviewing process by myself.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have stayed on part-time when I came back to school!
Advice
When you get to a new company, learn all you can about the company, how things are done, and why. It is disrespectful to act like you can fix the whole company after your first day there, even if your ideas are awesome!
