What I liked

They know how to treat their people. They made sure to host many events to bring people together whether it was the full intern class, just sourcing interns, or all sourcing employees. It's one of the best work environments I've ever experienced where everyone around me is driven and hardworking but also positive and respectful. I had no bad experiences during my summer as I learned so much about driving efficiency while building extremely valuable relationships.

Due to the pandemic, the internship was virtual.

Advice

I would advise the intern to be prepared to learn, ask probing questions, and never doubt your potential as an intern because you are given very valuable work in this position to solve real-world problems.

What I liked

I loved how willing everyone was willing to meet with me throughout the summer. I felt like I was able to ask anyone questions and they were willing to answer anything. I also appreciated how flexible my boss was and how she made me feel like I was a valued member of the team.

What I wish was different

I would have loved to have worked in person out of the Minneapolis office, unfortunately, due to COVID, I had to work virtual. The company made the experience wonderful and I feel like I still go the full experience. It just would have been nice to network in person with the people on my team.

Advice

Take advantage of the opportunity to meet with those working for the company. I learned so much about what a full-time would look like and the different opportunities that would be available to me. I also got to know what my future colleagues were like, making it much easier to feel comfortable in my decision to accept a full-time position.

What I liked

I loved the company culture. They gave me a unique project that greatly impacted the business. I was able to create my own schedule on a daily basis that allowed me to network and also complete my project to the best of my ability. They have amazing benefits.

What I wish was different

I wish that I was able to do more field selling during my role at headquarters. We did a trip to Dallas to practice our field selling, but I felt it was not long enough.

Advice

I would greatly encourage students to find a company that shares the same values as them. I loved my experience at General Mills because I share similar values and loved the culture. That is more important to me than the product I am selling.

What I liked

This position allowed me to truly challenge myself and think critically while analyzing data. The company is incredible and I enjoyed my intern experience there. I was able to meet so many intelligent and kind individuals who truly inspired me and they all supported me and included me from day one.

Advice

This internship required to analyze a lot of data using Excel. I would suggest to study up on excel formulas and get as familiar as possible with Excel.

Projects are given and started on day 1. They are challenging and worthwhile to the company so there is a lot of support from the other engineers, operators and others. Everyone gets to present at headquarters at the end of the internship which is an awesome experience
