What I wish was different
An important piece of information the company promises or states is that, according to Furaat, about 90% of interns get hired. I was really interested to get hired at the end of my internship. This is one of the reasons I applied to intern with this company. In fact, during the internship, there were times in which the question "would you be interested to work at Furaat" was asked many times. This assumption prompted me to work even harder for them, applying the principle "going the extra mile." At the end of the internship, I got to be interviewed by Furaat's owner for a Recruiter assistant position for a different unit (home care) company. I have passed the interview successfully, according to the interviewer, and I was promised to be contacted by the interviewer again, by January 5th to set up the basis of my employment. It was also mentioned that this position might not be open, since they were trying this new business and because things could change yet more with COVID; which I totally understood. However, I did not hear from them until about January 14 and after sending a text message inquiring about the position.
Although I understand that things have changed recently due to COVID, or whatever reason they may have had to decide not to hire me anymore, I wished they could have been a little more considerate and polite and sent me an email stating, appropriately, their thoughts and final decisions. Just like them do deserve all my respect, I believe, since I always put extra effort in all I did for them, I do deserve all their respect as well, and an email would have changed the perspective I now have about them.
