“It was a very independent job. We were treated as employees and our responsibilities in no way resembled that of a typical internship. My tasks included potential partnership research and outreach, organizing and leading a briefing at The Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the UN, coordinating a social impact challenge, supervising two volunteers who worked under me, and at one point, speaking in front of 900 people. I gained experience both within the International Relations realm, but also in soft skills. My leadership and communication skills were greatly bolstered. Also, the hours were conducive to getting a paid job on the side.”
