About Friends of Camp Concord

Friends of Camp Concord (FOCC) was established in 1983. FOCC is a nonprofit organization supporting Camp Concord in South Lake Tahoe. Friends of Camp Concord is comprised of a Board of Directors (volunteers) and representatives from the City of Concord Staff whose efforts directly impact the quality of the facility and programs offered at Camp Concord. The money raised is directed to a campership program allowing underprivileged children to attend resident camp.

Camp Concord is nestled between Fallen Leaf Lake, and the majestic Lake Tahoe, wrapped in the beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Our camp is laden with tall pine trees and the sounds of songbirds. Within 20 minutes of our camp, you can walk to either of the two lakes. We are also surrounded by hiking, biking, and running trails.

At Camp Concord, our staff utilizes the outdoors, explores the natural world, and offers amazing activities such as kayaking, archery, and tie-dying. We also do traditional camp activities like campfire programs, songs, skits, and arts and crafts.

We train our staff in all camp activities during a pre-camp intensive training week. Staff learn outdoor leadership, group management, and risk assessment skills. We incorporate environmental and outdoor education throughout our programming while also creating stewardship opportunities for our campers.
