Freed Maxick CPAs, P.C.

Accounting Intern

May - June 2018 • Buffalo, NY

What I liked

Everyone at Freed Maxick is so friendly. They truly make you feel like no question is a stupid question. I also loved how the internship was a rotation between tax and audit, so I gained experience in both areas.

What I wish was different

I wish it could have been a little longer, even though it was a full and busy 6 weeks! It was a great paid internship and I would gladly do it again.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions! People at Freed Maxick know you have a million questions and expect you to ask them. It's a great place to learn.

Accounting Intern

July - August 2018 • Batavia, NY

What I liked

I loved being able to feel like a first year associate - I was able to perform tasks that I didn't expect to have access to along with visiting clients' place of business. We went on corporate tours of the clients' place of business and I went through the tax side and the audit side of the accounting fields. I got to interact with the Partners and experience the work life in the office and out of the office.

What I wish was different

N/A. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Advice

Embrace yourself and ask questions. An internship should be used for the experience and the recognition of whether you fit in well with the company or not - it's not just for the company to see what your skills are.
