The office environment was comfortable and very welcoming. My direct supervisor was willing to give me professional guidance and the space I needed to find my way. While I worked in the GIS department, I was given the trust to work on independent and collaborative tasks. I never felt under or over worked. The other members of the office were helpful to me whether I was unsure about a task, wanted to discuss their projects, or just wanted general career guidance.
What I wish was different
This has little to do with the role itself, but my fellowship was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. I wish I had been able to finish out my term.
Advice
There are a ridiculous number of opportunities to advance your technical knowledge in this position. Take advantage of them!
